About Stonecraft Builders Weston-super-Mare
Carrying out general building work in and around the Somerset and North Somerset area, ranging from general building work and specialising in Natural stone work such as stone fronted property to walls and cladding.
In the early 1995 after winning two local Civic Society awards for projects in Weston-super-Mare, Nick moved into conversions and renovations starting in the company office at Upper Bristol Road in Weston-super-Mare, converting these properties into 3 Town Houses and then buying a plot of land and building 2 semi detached 3 bedroom family homes, these were then sold to the rental market, and allowed the company to move onto the next project, this time buying The Old Memorial Hall in Weston-super-Mare.
Six new properties were to be built on the companies new purchase, following the completion of local planning permission, the company built the new properties to the highest quality gaining a 97% mark from Eco homes certification. All the new builds were equipped with solar heating, supplied and installed by Stonecraft.
Stonecraft has carried out Solar installations following the building of Langford Road (The previous ‘Old Memorial Hall’ site) and has carried out installations in the local Area.
Stonecraft formed a side company (Solarcraft) for a while, designing, supplying and installing Solar installations.
Nick Dodd has been in the building industry since 1975 having carried out a apprenticeship with his father who was a Stonemason & General Builder for 50 years, following working with him and learning his trade Nick Dodd Formed Stonecraft Weston.
In the years that has passed by since Nick became a builder he took time out of 2 years to train and gain his qualifications to become a Building Operations, Brick layer and stonemason Assessor for the NVQ basis, he is still a qualified Assessor and continues to excel in his chosen career of building and renovations.
